2009 Krupp Brothers Synchrony, Stagecoach Vineyard

Complex nose full of aromas of bright red fruits, dark plum and toasted vanilla spice. Silky in texture with a rich and full body. Tannins build to create a beautifully layered mid-structure. Fruit remains forward and is clean and polished with bold, flavors. Finish is subtle but long. Drink now through 2022.

Blend:	66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot
Fermentation:	Average of 4 days cold soak and 21 to 32 days on skins
Cooperage:	French Oak–Taransaud, Sylvain & Bossuet
Barrel Aging:	22 months–80% new
Release Date:	October 1, 2012
Vineyard:	Stagecoach: Blocks M5, L1, L3, E1, E2, D4 and KVMA-1
Soil:	Insanely rocky to clay loam with varying soil depth
Exposure:	Mixed and varying. Mostly gentle southerly aspect.

"This is rich and dense in blackberry and cherry jam, currant, mocha, anise and smoky cedar flavors. The mountain tannins are strong but refined, and the finish is long and spicy. It’s a Bordeaux blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon, but be forewarned: It’s high in alcohol." —S.H.
