2007 Black Bart Syrah Port, Napa Valley

Berry licorice fruit, spice and marzipan aromatics immediately capture your attention. A beautifully rich pallet attributed to quality fruit, not high brix levels. The wine dances across the tongue with great acidity and vibrancy, the finish is long and concentrated. Release Date: December 1, 2009

Blend: 100% Syrah Fortified with Germain Robin Viognier brandy
Fermentation: 4 days cold soak, 5 days of fermentation with 5-6 punch downs per day before fortification
Cooperage: French Oak–Damy and Cadus
Barrel Aging: 20 months–one-use French Oak
