Like the sophisticated gentleman bandit of the late 1800s who crisscrossed Northern California robbing stagecoaches, Black Bart serves as the Krupp Brothers' label for its wild-yet-sophisticated Rhone-varietal wines. Wines include two Syrahs, Marsanne, a whie blend called Black Bart's Bride, and in select years a Syrah Port.
Berry licorice fruit, spice and marzipan aromatics immediately capture your attention. A beautifully rich pallet attributed to quality fruit, not high brix levels. The wine dances across the tongue with great acidity and vibrancy, the finish is long and concentrated. Release Date: December 1, 2009
Complex and generous, aromas of ripe grapefruit, green pineapple and wet stones. Flavors of ripe citrus and minerals mixed with nectarines, green melon rind and blanched almonds. The wine has excellent richness/intensity and a fine melted- butter texture and good acidity that follows through to the finish.
