Black Bart (2007)

Named for the sophisticated gentleman bandit of the late 1800s who crisscrossed Northern California robbing stagecoaches (with a nod to winery co-proprietor Bart Krupp), Black Bart is the Krupp Brothers’ label for its wild but sophisticated wines based on Rhône varietals.
Black Bart Syrah, Stagecoach Vineyard, fermented with a touch Viognier to add elegance and soft, floral aromas, has cut its own legendary path across the Northern California hills (and garnered attention across the globe)—much like its namesake.

The Black Bart portfolio also includes a Marsanne and a seductive blend of Marsanne, Viognier, and Chardonnay called Black Bart’s Bride, in honor of the outlaw’s young, mysterious lover. A Syrah Port is made in select years.

2007 Black Bart’s Bounty Chardonnay, Napa Valley

Complex and generous, aromas of ripe grapefruit, green pineapple and wet stones. Flavors of ripe citrus and minerals mixed with nectarines, green melon rind and blanched almonds. The wine has excellent richness/intensity and a fine melted- butter texture and good acidity that follows through to the finish.
