WINE SPECTATOR - 2009 Krupp Brothers Black Bart Syrah
"Focused on a core of cherry and raspberry flavors, this is firm and spicy, supported by ripe, chewy tannins and accented by hints of graphite and crushed rock. Drink now through 2024. 446 cases made." —S.H.
"The 2011 Synchrony, which emerges from the Stagecoach Vineyard, is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (84%) blended with 12% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, 1% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. The fruit is more primordial and blacker than in The Doctor, and the wine is darker and smokier with more barbecue meat-like characteristics. It also offers attractive cassis, licorice and forest floor notes. This complex, medium to full-bodied blend exhibits a smooth finish displaying a hint of toasty oak. Drink it over the next 7-8 years."—RP
"The vineyard straddles Atlas Peak and the Pritchard Hill region, and this beautiful Cabernet shows its terroir in the firm tannins and ripe, complex flavors. It’s high in alcohol, which gives it some heat, and it is rich in flavors of blackberry and cherry jam and cassis liqueur. Give it an hour or two in the decanter and drink now." —S.H.
"The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach is a huge wine bursting at the seams with fruit. The wine literally covers every inch of the palate with layers of dark fruit in an opulent style backed up with plenty of deep structure. Plums, exotic spices, mineral and violets wrap around an intense, muscular finish. The blend is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 2% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023."—AG
"A total gorgeous wine, the 2010 Chardonnay jumps from the glass with rich, varietally expressive aromas and flavors, all supported by lively acidity. Lemon, white flowers and crushed rocks flow through to the beautifully delineated finish. In 2010, the Chardonnay is totally convincing. What a beautiful wine this is. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018."—AG
